Jaipur. In a significant move to bolster public safety and curb criminal activities, the Rajasthan Police executed a massive, state-wide area domination operation. Under the strategic direction of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the force launched a coordinated strike that saw 12,151 personnel operating across 2,961 specialized teams. This synchronized effort targeted 17,049 locations identified as potential hideouts for anti-social elements and wanted offenders.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 7,744 individuals within a single day, marking a substantial success in the state's ongoing efforts to maintain law and order. The crackdown focused heavily on organized crime, narcotics trafficking, and habitual offenders. Among those apprehended were 55 individuals carrying cash rewards, 354 hardcore criminals and history-sheeters, and 922 permanent warrant holders who had been evading the judicial process.
The scope of the operation extended to various categories of crime, including 95 arrests related to heinous offenses such as murder, attempted murder, and robbery. Furthermore, police took action against 141 individuals under the Arms and NDPS Acts, while 173 arrests were made under excise regulations. The drive also addressed public safety concerns by processing 164 active criminals involved in firearm-related incidents and registering 787 new cases to ensure legal accountability.
Regional performance was notable, with districts like Tonk, Bhilwara, and Udaipur reporting high arrest figures. In the capital city, the Jaipur Commissionerate and rural police units conducted extensive raids, with Jaipur West alone accounting for 215 arrests, including several high-profile targets. Similar operations were carried out across Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Alwar, ensuring a comprehensive reach across the state's geography.
Director General Rajiv Kumar Sharma emphasized that the primary objective of this initiative is to foster a secure and fear-free environment for the citizens of Rajasthan. By demonstrating a strong police presence, the department aims to instill confidence in the public while ensuring that criminal elements remain under constant pressure.
